Huntsville Sports Commission Hires Brooke Izzo as Director of Marketing & Communications

Huntsville, AL- Huntsville Sports Commission (HSC) announces the hire of Brooke Izzo as the Director of Marketing & Communications. This role is a new addition to the HSC Administrative Staff.

Huntsville Sports Commission completed a strategic plan in 2019 conducted by Knight Eady. In the study Knight Eady concluded that the HSC needed to, “add staff to adequately support the Huntsville Sports Commission’s goal of growth and their goal of continuing to bring more sporting events to Huntsville.”

Brooke Izzo was born and raised in the Huntsville, Alabama area. After graduating from Madison County High School in 2012, Brooke attended the University of Alabama where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Management. While attending UA, Brooke completed internships with both Walt Disney World and Downtown Huntsville Inc. 

Brooke returned to Huntsville in 2016 and accepted a job with the Von Braun Center as the Marketing & Public Relations Manager. During her time at the VBC, she worked on several projects including the VBC expansion, the creation of the annual Von Brewski Beer Festival, President Trump’s visit to Huntsville and more. After 3 years with the Von Braun Center Brooke accepted a job as the Marketing Specialist for MartinFederal Consulting, LLC. As the Marketing Specialist, she managed all marketing, public relations and event planning efforts for the company and its several locations.

Ralph Stone, Executive Director of the HSC stated, “After interviewing several candidates we knew Brooke was perfect for this new role. With her past experience and involvement with the community we believe Brooke will be a huge asset to the Huntsville Sports Commission.” 

As the Director of Marketing & Communications Brooke will be responsible for handling all aspects of marketing & communication for the HSC including website management, branding, social media and advertising as well as the development and implementation of a research-based marketing and communications plans. In addition, Brooke will oversee the launch of their new membership program.

HSC Board Chair David Nast stated, “The Sports Commission is growing right in step with our community.  We are pleased to have Brooke join our team and continue telling our story about the quality of life in Huntsville from a sports perspective.”
