Ralph Stone Retires from Huntsville Sports Commission

After 14 years of dedicated service to the Huntsville Sports Commission, Ralph Stone, Executive Director, is setting his sights on a well-deserved retirement in December.

Ralph Stone is a Huntsville native who graduated from Huntsville High in 1975. Ralph continued his education at Jacksonville State University where he graduated with a degree in Recreation Administration. Following his time at JSU, Ralph worked for the City of Huntsville and retired as the Director of Parks & Rec after 27 years.

During his time at the Huntsville Sports Commission he has served as a member of the National Recreation and Parks Association, Southern Regional Council of National Rec and Park Association, Huntsville Planning Commission and Mayor’s Advisory Committee for Quality of Life. He also serves on the Huntsville IcePlex board.

Ralph is a past VP of Huntsville Track Cub, past president of Alabama Rec and Park Association and Leadership Huntsville graduate. His work with the Huntsville Sports Commission has brought hundreds of events to Huntsville with millions in economic impact for the city of Huntsville.

Ralph plans to enjoy his retirement with his college sweetheart and wife of 42 years, Cindi Brown Stone and looks forward to spending more time with his 2 sons, Conrad and Garrett, and two granddaughters, Sophie and Molly Grace. Ralph will continue to volunteer with Huntsville Ducks Unlimited and the National Wild Turkey Federation and come on as a Huntsville Sports Commission member & volunteer.
