AHSAA North Super Regional Volleyball Tournament Kicks Off Today, October 19, at Von Braun Center

The 2022 AHSAA North Super Regional Volleyball Tournament hosted by the Huntsville Sports Commission with support from the City of Huntsville and Huntsville/Madison Country Convention & Visitors Bureau is set to take place October 19-21 at the Von Braun Center South Hall.

A total of 104 teams from across north Alabama will be competing in the 2022 tournament. Last year’s event brought over 15,000 spectators to the VBC South Hall. High schools competing from the greater Huntsville area include Huntsville, Bob Jones, James Clemens, Sparkman, Hazel Green, Buckhorn, Westminster Christian Academy, Madison Academy, New Hope and Madison County. Westminster Christian Academy will be defending their 2021 State Championship title.

Tickets are $10 per day and must be purchased online at www.gofan.com. Parking is $5 at the City of Huntsville garages and $10 on VBC property. Concessions will be open with food and drinks available for purchase. Please bring a card as the VBC is a cashless facility. No outside food or drinks are permitted in the facility.

Play is single elimination with a 3-out-of-5 games format. Each area winner will play a runner-up from another area in the first round of the 16-team bracket for 1A-6A classifications and an 8-team bracket for 7A classifications. The first four finishers in each super regional tournament will advance to the state tournament in Birmingham, Alabama. A consolation match will be played to determine the third- and fourth-place teams.
