Southern Showcase

Event Details

The Southern Showcase is a two-day cross country meet directed by Huntsville High School and Jacksonville State University. The Southern Showcase brings more than 150 teams and 5,000+ runners to John Hunt Park.

Course preview: Thursday, September 14
th @ sunrise to sunset (open during normal operating hours)
Packet pickup/scratches: Thursday, September 14th @ 3-5 PM.
Men’s 8k: Friday, September 15th @ 7:30 AM
Women’s 5k: Friday, September 15
th @ 8:30 AM
Awards: presented @ 9:30 AM near entrance of park (portable stage, men followed by women)

High School Friday Schedule

5:00 PM – Junior High boys 2 mile- unlimited entry for 7-9^th grade boys ONLY

5:15 PM – Junior High girls 2 mile – unlimited entry for 7-9^th grade girls ONLY

5:30 PM- Girls “open” division 5K – unlimited entries, all grades 7-12, no time standard

6:00 PM – Small School Boys “open” division 5K – unlimited entries, all grades 7-12, no time standard

6:25 PM- Large School Boys “open” division 5K – unlimited entries, all grades 7-12, no time standard

*small schools that would prefer to compete in this division as opposed to Crimson on Saturday, reach out to me to discuss the possibility.

8:00 AM – Blue Boys

8:20 AM – Championship Boys

8:40 AM – Championship Girls

9:00 AM – Blue Girls

9:25 AM – Crimson Boys

9:45 AM – Gray Boys

10:05 – Crimson Girls

9:00 AM – Awards will begin & be on a rolling schedule as results are provided and run in the same order as race schedule.

Saturday awards ceremony schedule will follow the race schedule in 2023
