Huntsville Hits the Beach! Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for Sand Volleyball Complex in John Hunt Park

(Huntsville, AL) – The Rocket City is ready to kick-up some sand with 12 new sand volleyball courts in John Hunt Park. The new $3.7 million Sand Volleyball Complex includes state of the art technology for athletes, marking Huntsville as a premiere location for beach volleyball tournaments and play.
The grand opening will be held on Friday, July 12, at 2 p.m., followed by an action-packed weekend of games and clinics with the pros from Rally Volleyball and Sinjin Smith, one of the greatest volleyball players and winner of the sport’s U.S. Championship and two-time World Championship winner. Smith was the primary force behind the growth of beach volleyball as a sport and the development of the Association of Volleyball Professionals, which formalized the sport as a professional athletic competition.
